About Laurie

I live in Winnipeg’s North End with my husband, son, dog and two cats. A proud resident of the neighbourhood for over 28 years, I am passionate about advocating for my community and standing up for what’s right.
As the Director of Development for Inner City Youth Alive I worked to support at-risk youth in our neighbourhood, providing them with essential supports and positive pathways. I have also served on the board of the North Point Douglas Women’s Centre, worked for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Manitoba, and led the parent councils for Victoria-Albert and St. John’s High School. My husband has taught in the North End and continues to work and support youth at risk. As a family, we are passionate about supporting underserved groups and giving back to our community.
